Yes. Send Dossier is parent-owned and parent-controlled. Data is encrypted, and is not shared with schools or local authorities from inside the app during this beta — collaborator access is planned for later paid tiers.

Do I need school or LA approval?

No. You can start immediately on Essentials. Inviting professionals into your dossier is planned for paid tiers after beta.

Does this help with mediation, complaints or appeals?

Organised records help for meetings and appeals. Beta Essentials includes a simple dossier summary PDF; fuller appeal-preparation exports are planned for later paid tiers.

Can my partner or advocate access the timeline?

Not during beta. Collaborator access is planned for paid tiers after beta; Essentials is private to your account.

What if I'm not technical?

The workflow is intentionally simple: capture, organise, export. Most families are set up in minutes.

How is this different from Drive or Notion?

Those are general file stores. Send Dossier adds SEND-shaped lists — deadlines, SENCO and incident logs, annual review checklist — in one place. Broader automation and fuller pack exports are planned for paid tiers after beta.

Does AI replace my voice?

Never. Send Dossier does not use AI on your records unless you explicitly choose an AI feature. Optional summaries are suggestion-only; you stay in control.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Your data stays in your account and is never deleted when you cancel. If you downgrade to Essentials, some features lock but everything you've logged remains accessible. If you delete your account, all data is permanently removed within 30 days. You can export your data at any time from Settings.

What is your refund policy?

Essentials is free. Paid plans are planned after beta; refund rules will appear in Terms when billing opens.

Are Solo, Family and Command on the pricing page final?

During beta, Solo Family and Command are a preview; features and prices may change before launch. Essentials is available now.

Can my child's SENCO use Send Dossier?

Collaborator invites are planned for paid tiers after beta; Essentials is private to your account during beta.

Does Send Dossier work in Scotland or Wales?

Send Dossier is designed primarily for the English SEND system and the Children and Families Act 2014. Scotland and Wales have different frameworks (ASN and ALN respectively). Some features like evidence logging and document storage are useful everywhere, but the legal deadline auto-generation is based on English law.

What file types can I upload?

Common formats within plan limits. Essentials beta Quick Capture: camera, photo library and PDF upload.

Is there a mobile app?

Send Dossier is a progressive web app (PWA) that works on any device through your browser. On iPhone, tap Share → Add to Home Screen for an app-like experience. On Android, tap the browser menu → Install app. A dedicated iOS and Android app is on our roadmap.

How is Send Dossier different from hiring a solicitor?

A solicitor gives you legal advice and represents you. Send Dossier gives you organised evidence and case records — the foundation that makes professional support more effective and less expensive. Many families use Send Dossier alongside a solicitor or IPSEA adviser. Having organised evidence means your professional support time is spent on strategy, not finding paperwork.

Who built Send Dossier and why?

Send Dossier was shaped through conversations with parents, SEND professionals and publicly available guidance, with a focus on reducing admin pressure for families. It was also informed by seeing families close to the founder struggle with SEND evidence. The founder does not have a child with SEND and is not a solicitor or SEND specialist. This is an organisation and evidence tool, not legal, medical or educational advice. See the About page.
