Why I built Send Dossier

Why I built this

I built Send Dossier after seeing families close to me struggle to keep up with the SEND process.

I do not have a child with SEND myself, and I want to be clear about that. In a community where trust matters, parents deserve honesty about who built this and why.

My connection to this problem started through family members who have children with SEND. I saw how quickly everything became difficult to manage: letters, emails, meeting notes, reports, deadlines, verbal promises, missed support, and documents saved in different places.

The pressure was not just emotional. It was practical.

Parents were expected to remember what was said, prove what had happened, chase what had been promised, and stay on top of a process that often feels slow, confusing, and exhausting.

I also spoke to teachers and school staff who described the same problem from another angle. Many families were not short of care, effort, or determination. They were short of one organised place to keep a clear record.

That gap stayed with me.

The problem I saw

There are solicitors, advocates, SENDIASS services, charities, and organisations like IPSEA and SOS!SEN doing important work. Send Dossier is not here to replace them.

The gap I saw was different.

I could not find a practical, affordable tool built specifically to help parents capture evidence in the moment, track provision against what was promised, organise important documents, monitor deadlines, and prepare clearer records for reviews, complaints, meetings, or appeals.

Too many families were relying on memory, screenshots, notebooks, folders, email searches, and last-minute panic.

And memory, however sharp, is not the same as a dated record.

So I built Send Dossier.

What Send Dossier is for

Send Dossier is an organisation and evidence tool for SEND families.

It helps parents keep a structured record of what happened, what was promised, what was missed, what documents were received, what deadlines are coming up, and what needs doing next.

It will not replace a solicitor, advocate, charity, school, or professional adviser.

It will not give legal, medical, or educational advice.

It will not win a case by itself.

What it can do is help families walk into an annual review, school meeting, complaint process, or tribunal preparation with a clearer record than they had before.

That matters.

Because there is a big difference between walking in with a bag of letters and walking in with a dated, organised case history.

How I want to build this

Send Dossier is being built with a simple principle: parents should stay in control of their child's information.

  • No ads.
  • No selling your data.
  • No fake testimonials.
  • No pretending this is legal advice.
  • No making the SEND process sound simpler than it is.

As real families begin using Send Dossier and choose to share their experiences, I will publish honest feedback clearly and transparently. Until then, I would rather show no testimonials than invent trust that has not been earned.

Send Dossier exists because parents should not have to hold an entire case history in their head.

They deserve calmer tools, clearer records, and a better way to prepare for the moments that matter.

If you have questions, feedback, or want to share your experience, I would genuinely like to hear from you.
